A Musical Heritage in the Attic showcases an extensive collection of indigenous and traditional Musical Instruments of the tribes and communities living along the River Brahmaputra. It encapsulates the beats and rhythms of the people and the river.
Currently there are 61 instruments on display and the work is ongoing to bring in many more from various parts of Assam.
We have an evolving research oriented digital archive. For each instrument, a short description about the historical and geographical context, relevant pictures, an audio file for you to experience the sound of it being played and a short film about it, including the process of instrumentation.
